Boycott BP

Boycott BP and help save our beaches!
Save Our Beaches! Boycott BP

BP told the US Congress they were not responsible for all the damages that may be related to the BP oil spill. This calls for everyone to boycott BP. The BP oil spill is causing hurt, harm and injury to people, animals and the environment; this megolithic oil spill threatens to destroy the Gulf Coast for generations to come. The BP oil spill is an ecological disaster! It is destroying the fishing and tourist industries, killing sea turtles, fish, birds and destroying the wetlands. It is making shrimp, oysters and fish unfit for human consumption! Fishermen helping with the clean up are already getting sick and being hospitalized. People in the area may later develop cancer from exposure to toxic oil spill chemicals! Make BP take responsibility for all damages associated with the BP oil spill. You can help by saying, "Save Our Beaches! Boycott BP!"

Shark checks out BP oil spill

A large shark was captured on feed from the BP oil spill ROV. The shark appeared very briefly and then was gone.

Terry Lynch was observing the ROV feed and happened to get this photo of a large shark checking out the BP oil spill. It has been suggested the toxic effect of swimming through oil and/or dispersants caused the shark to go berserk or crazy and exhibit atypical, bizarre behavior. Perhaps the EPA was correct in scolding BP in usage of the oil dispersant, Corexit, which is too toxic. Who knows, maybe a crazed shark, sickened by pollutants, chewing upon cables or equipment is what caused the explosion of Deepwater Horizon in the first place! Lynch made the photo into a design which is available upon gifts and apparel for anyone who wants to protest the BP oil spill.

CBS news reported upon the possible toxic effects of the BP oil spill as being investigated by marine biologists out of Pascagoula, Mississippi, prior to the oil spills wide spread. Also, on May 6, 2010, the AP reported upon the increasing number of dead sea turtles along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Clearly the BP oil spill is a looming ecological disaster! Ben Booth of Environmental Solutions gave an excellent account of how the BP oil spill may impact the fishing industry along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. As time goes by more and more reports about the toxic effects the oil spill is having upon marine life come in. Watch this related video which reports on the effect of the oil spill upon fish and other marine life. The toxic nature of the oil spill and Corexit, a dispersant being used in astronomical amounts, is causing fish to act in a bizaare manner. Top Kill

"Top Kill" is the term used by BP to try to stop the oil leak by pumping mud into the well, followed by concrete. Will it work? So far the only thing BP has managed to "Top Kill" is marine life and wildlife along the Gulf coast.

Click here to watch the live oil spill yourself if the ROV feed is still available.

If the above live ROV feed is not active, visit the US Congress subcommitte on Global Warming oil spill cam site. A dozen or so ROV cam feeds are being monitored by the US Congress to keep tabs on BP, given the company was not altogether forthcoming during the early days of what has become the worst ecological disaster in US history.

Mommy, Why are all the birds dying?

Please help raise awareness and sound the alarm. The BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is threatening the lives of birds, sea turtles and other wildlife. BP was impotent in its response to immediately stop the leak, trying to collect as much oil as possible instead of taking immediate action to stop the leak. As a consequence million of gallons of oil is gushing into the Gulf of Mexico and is washing upon shore threatening to kill birds and other wildlife and cause an ecological disaster of unprecedented magnitude.
