Everyone who wants to help save our beaches is being asked to boycott BP. The BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is the largest in US history! BP is responsible for cleaning up the mess and has negated responsibility for damages to the US Congress. We are therefore asking everyone to boycott BP. This is a national disaster that was created by humans and demands a response by humans to make BP pay for not only cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico, the beaches and the wetlands, but paying everyone for the hurt, harm and injury which has been done. Already the BP oil spill has caused great damage to the fishing industry. People who depend upon fishing for shrimp, oysters, and fish are having their lives destroyed by the BP oil spill. Oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico has already covered an area larger than the states of West Virgina and Maine combines, and continues to gush! Everything BP has done to date (as of 1 June, 2010) has failed to stop the leak. Sea turtled have been found dead along the shore. Fish and birds are being killed by the oily goo. Fishermen helping clean up the oil spill have been made sick and hospitalized. And yet still the oil spills into the Gulf at an alarming rate or up to 200,000 gallons per day.
A general boycott of BP will encourage big oil to take responsibility, not only for cleaning up the mess, which in some cases like the wetlands, is impossible, but to take responsibility for all the damages associated with the oil spill. Yet for this to happen people everywhere need to unite in a general boycott of BP. Therefore we are asking everyone to support this effort. Please help raise awareness and sound the alarm. The BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is threatening the lives of birds, sea turtles and other wildlife. BP was impotent in its response to immediately stop the leak, trying to collect as much oil as possible instead of taking immediate action to stop the leak.
