Spirit of Christmas Art & Photography Contest

The 2008 Spirit of Christmas Art & Photograph contest is now open. Send entries beginning November, 1, 2008. Early entry is recommended.

ENTRY: Best entries may be featured upon gifts and apparel. A prize will be given to the winning entry. You must submit a photograph plus an entry form via email to receive a prize. No limit to the number of entries.

WHAT TO SEND Please send original digital photographs which reflect the spirit of Christmas and the Holiday Season, including Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and New Years. This may include any original art or photographs such as: Thanksgiving themes, the winter season, Christmas themes, Santa Clause, Christmas stockings, ornaments, snowmen, reindeer, manger scenes, Christmas trees, Christmas decorations, or any other Thanksgiving, Hanuakkah, Christmas, New Years or Holiday Season themes. No recognizable person or identifiable children should be in the photograph. If you produce a work of art, you should only send a photograph or scan of your work; do NOT send the original; only send copies.

DEADLINE: January 3, 2009 at midnight. All entries become the property of TALGSD and the Spirit of Christmas Art and Photography Contest and must be received by January 3, 2009, by midnight. Winner will be announced ASAP thereafter. Please be patient. Because there is a time zone factor and it is not the same hour in all time zones, plus time is required to judge and determine the winning entry, we will announce the winner ASAP after judging is complete and post the winning entry on this site.

PRIZES: The winner will be sent a prize which will be a gift/apparel item valued at $28.49 (plus shipping and handling). You must complete an entry form to receive your prize and provide a street address for sending and shipping your prize (your street address and phone number will be kept strictly confidential). Sorry, we cannot ship to a PO Box.

JUDGES: All entries will be judged by a panel of three anonymous Christmas judges on a 90 point scale for originality, creativity and artistic merit. This will be very subjective and it will also be taken into account how much the entry evokes and conveys the Spirit of Christmas and the Holiday Season! Each judge will score ten points each for originality, creativity and artistic merit; giving a total of 30 points; then the scores of the three judges are added together. Our panel of anonymous judges includes a cheerful elf, a gorgeous angel with a golden crown and a Nordic snowman with antlers. In the event of a tie, this will be broken by St. Nicholas II, a jolly old man dressed in a red suit who enjoys impersonating Santa Clause. Decision of the judges is final. The First Place entry will be announced and posted on this site and the prize will be sent to the winner ASAP after the contest ends. Please be patient as our judges are very busy and cannot control the amount of time it may take for our agents to manufacture and ship the prize.

CREDITS: We reserve the right to publish the name, city and state/province of the winner and to market all entries on gifts and apparel. Your participation in this contest is your agreement permit usage and marketing of your entry. Please do NOT enter this contest unless you agree with these terms and conditions. If your entry is used, you may receive name credit as recognition for your work. We may put a watermark copyright notice on all photographs with the name of the artist/photographer anytime a work is used and/or posted for advertising and/or marketing purposes; or we may list your photo credits if your work is used in future advertising or promotion. We also reserve the right to edit all entries. Plus we may also link to your web site or home page if you provide an Internet site address (URL) on your entry form. No other compensation can be given for entries. You may join the affiliate program to receive commissions from all designs and gifts and apparel items when a referral is made and purchased through an independent site that you operate. All entries become the property of TALGSD, producers of the Spirit of Christmas Art and Photography Contest, Santa's Workshop, Byteland Gifts & Apparel, Gift of Love, and cannot be returned.

FAMILY ORIENTED: Do NOT send pictures or art that is not suitable for viewing ba a general family audience! This is a family oriented contest. Any inappropriate material will be disqualified.

USA & CANADA ONLY: The Spirit of Christmas Art and Photography Contest is open to everyone in the USA and Canada only. Decision of the judge/s is final.

PRIVACY POLICY: We will never sell, rent, trade or loan any information about our customers or users to anyone, for any reason whatsoever. We assure you that your privacy is respected and well protected. If your entry or photograph is used, we reserve the right to publish your name, city, state/province in order to give you credit for your work. We also reserve the right to link to your web site or home page if you provide an Internet address/URL with your entry. However, we do not give out street addresses or phone number or market mailing lists to third parties.

AFFILIATES: You may make commissions off of referrals to our Santa's Workshop and Emporium by joining CafePress.com and their affiliate program. You will not receive any other compensation whatsoever. Thank you for your participation and patronage.

By participating in this contest you agree to comply fully with the rules, terms and conditions; you give permission for usage of your entry without further compensation; and, you release TALGSD, Byteland.org, its agents and representatives, from all liability whatsoever, real or imagined. The artist and/or photographer retains all other rights to their original work. These terms, rules and conditions may be changed, modified and/or otherwise revised at any time without notice.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND BENEFITS Basically this is a fun competition meant to promote the spirit of Christmas and the Holiday Season as well as stimulate art and photograph. Usage of entries helps raise funds to support the competition, maintain this site, and also helps recognizes participants who have contributed to these efforts. Therefore your name, city and state may be used anytime your work is used in a promotion. We may also link to any web site if you provide the Internet address (URL). You may also benefit by becoming an affiliate of CafePress and linking to the Spirit of Christmas Contest and/or any of the gifts and apparel marketed by Byteland Art or our sister store TopPics. This contest is a way art and photography are solicited for usage which benefits artists and photographers. If you do not agree fully with these terms and conditions, then do not participate in this competition.

The first place entry will receive a long sleeve hooded sweatshirt which says, "Spirit of Christmas Art & Photography Contest 2008! First Place." and features your winning entry incorporated into a graphic design and may list The Great Christmas Art & Photography Contest web site/URL. This will be similar to the design shown below except that your winning entry will be featured in the design. This item is valued at $28.49 (plus shipping and handling) You must provide a completed entry form with your correct name, street address and sweatshirt size in order to qualify for a prize. Sorry, we cannot ship to a PO Box. Any entries which do not provide complete information may be disqualified.

The first place winner only will receive a prize with their winning entry incorporated into a design that says, "Spirit of Christmas Art & Photography Contest 2008! First Place."

Spirit of Christmas Art & Photography Contest Entry Form (#01032009A) ***Highlight/cut/paste and return your completed entry form via email*** Instructions: Highlight, cut/paste and send this completed entry form via email along with a digital photograph of your entry (as attached file) showing your original Christmas and holiday season art/photograph that you made or created. You can also enter Christmas designs made using your computer and a graphic art paint type program like Adobe Photo Shop of Photo Suite. Please send your entry as a high resolution type .JPG or .PNG type file (recommended size is 2000 x 2000 pixels or more). All entries may be available for advertising, usage and/or production on gifts and apparel via CafePress.com or other publish on demand type services, the Internet and/or any other business, service, or company, and may be marketed to raise funds to support this and future contests and promotions.
