Around the world and nation millions of lives are being destroyed by drugs and guns. This is, in fact, the primary reason for terrorism around the world, as such groups are funded by drug money which is used to buy weapons and explosives. But the deadly combination of drugs and guns also effects children everywhere, as when drugs and guns come into a school or community, the result is violence, destruction and death.
Only recently (June 17, 2006) New Orleans, Louisiana experienced a horrible gang violence killing. Every day there are similar violent outbursts and killings related to drugs and guns. The resulting deaths of our children touches families across America and throughout the world. People need to be made aware of the fact that the violence in schools and communities is directly related to the association of drugs and guns. Usage of illegal drugs causes a change in behavior and dealing in illegal drugs is a criminal activity enabled and empowered by usage of firearms to intimidate and eliminate others. This can be stopped through a nonviolent Save Our Children promotion and campaign only if enough people get involved and stand up to make home, schools, churches, malls and our neighborhoods drug and gun free zones.
Please do not ignore this cry for help. Our children are dying. They are being destroyed by drugs and guns. This effects all aspects and classes of society from the ghettos and urban centers to the suburbs. No one nor place is immune. This is evident from the many incidence where children have taken guns to school and killed other students. Such aberant and abusive behavior generally can be traced to the deadly combination of drugs and guns in the hands of youth.
The founder of Save Our Children had his own life forever changed when his dear brother was killed as a consequence of using drugs given to him by a juvenal delinquent while visiting a college campus. This teenaged drug dealer was dealing in dirty acid, LSD, laced with strychnine, this according to an out-reach minister working in drug rehabilitation in the community at the time of this tragic death. Usage of this chemical substance resulted in a bad trip and tragic death of a very creative young artist, one of the many ways young people are killed as a consequence of those who deal in drugs, bringing them into our schools and onto our campuses, often using guns to enforce their will upon innocent children, teenagers and young men and women who are not aware of how dangerous it can can be to try mind altering drugs even one time.
