Letter to the Editor

SUBJECT: Sex Scandal Was Cover For Antiterrorist Attacks! Osama bin Laden is no friend of America. The U.S. bombing of terrorist camps in Afghanistan and the chemical factory in Sudan must be regarded as retaliation for the bombing of American embassies in East Africa. Any talk by republicans that President Clinton had ulterior motives is hog wash and makes republicans and moralists unwitted terrorist sympathizers and puppets. You do not order military attacks against international terrorists and announce your intentions with a press release. To do so would jeopardize the security of our armed forces overseas. Anyone who suggest that a silly little sex scandal motivated President Clinton's actions is living in a Wag the Dog fantasy world. On August 11th I sent President Clinton and various media a letter identifying Islamic fundamentalist as responsible for bombing of U.S. embassies based on a profile of the bombings. I suggested that if this were true the only $2-million reward our State Department should give terrorists is a smart bomb on their base camps. Although these attacks may not have taken out Saddam Hussein or Osama bin Laden, I believe both these people are behind the holy war terrorism directed against the United States, if not directly, then philosophically. Congress got its notice of an imminent attack when U.S. embassies were bombed. Very likely President Clinton cleverly used the Monica Lewinski sex scandal and his vacation retreat as a political smoke screen and cover to keep terrorists off guard. Republicans who do not have the tactical sense to see this have their heads in the sand. Congratulations President Clinton on an excellent end move. Not only did you win the antiterrorist game but you check mated opponents in Congress! Hey, does this mean I get a $2-millon reward? Sincerely, Terry Lynch Montgomery, AL Copyright Notice
