REF: Fleetwood Mac Not Witch or Warlock!

Fleetwood Mac is about as Satanic as Santa Clause. For any church
to ban Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" based upon a false rumor that
Stevie Nicks is a witch, warlock or Satan worshiper is
ludicrous. Such a ban harms our children because it degrades
respect for U.S. Constitutional rights and by unjustly inhibiting
freedom of speech and expression in the same manner as does
removing prayer from schools.

If it is true that demons, monsters, devils and evil spirits
don't exist except in our imaginations, then it is harmful to
take away such rights as free speech based upon belief in
superstition and untrue rumors of witchcraft.

It may be true that much of Christian religion is based upon myth
and superstition. Yet in this country we have freedom of
religion which means that people may practice whatever religion
they like. Yet in that practice they may not deny others their
unalienable rights such as life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness.

Listening to Fleetwood Mac or performing their music in no way
advocates Satan worship or witch craft. Yet even if it did,
freedom of religion means people have a right to worship whatever
God or mythological concept they wish.

The harm comes when one person's belief takes away the rights and
liberties of others. If Christians start killing intellectuals
because they teach evolution or the fact God and the devil are
superstition, then real harm comes from expression of one's
belief. The same is true if Neo-Nazis start killing Jews or the
KKK starts lynching blacks. Harm comes when the belief of one
group or religion takes away the rights, liberties or very life of
another person or group.

So long as music inspires such high virtues as love, personal
growth and change for the better, as does "Landslide," then no
harm is done. Churches should take this into consideration
before they start condemning and persecuting rock groups,
entertainers or their fans. For the pendulum can swing both
ways, and least we are tolerant, our own religious beliefs are
then in peril.
