REF:  Jesus Would Be A Democrat! 

Regarding Cecil H. Talley's April 17th letter entitled "How Can 
Christians Vote Democratic?," the answer is simple:  just vote as 
Jesus would have voted.

Jesus believed and taught forgiveness.  Jesus would forgive both 
Republicans and Democrats for their trespasses.  Jesus would 
accept homosexuals and forgive those whom have abortions.  More 
over, Jesus would not advocate bringing unwanted children into 
the world.  Jesus would not advocate over population and would 
preach population control by the most humane method available, 
that being family planning and birth control.  In fact, Jesus 
would prevent teen pregnancy by passing out condoms in the 
classrooms!

Jesus would advocate brotherly love and not throw the first stone 
at prostitutes, homosexuals or adulterants.  Jesus would not 
point a finger at President Clinton's "oral office" affairs, but 
would teach people to love thy neighbor and their President as 
they would love themselves.

In other words, Jesus would be very loving, accepting and caring, 
especially of his enemies.  He would bring Kennedy back from the 
dead and make all blind Republicans see the light!  Jesus would 
tell Republicans to put down their guns and stop shooting off 
their mouths about Monica Lowinsky.  Jesus would feed the hungry 
and impoverished, multiplying each loaf of bread ten fold, giving 
subsidies to farmers, not to grow tobacco, but to grow wheat, 
corn and peanuts.  Jesus would heal the sick providing free 
health care for the masses.  Jesus who was crucified upon the 
cross would end all forms of capitol punishment.  And Jesus would 
throw Republicans out of the temple for using God's house to fill 
their own political coffers!

So why would Christians vote Democratic?  The reason is because 
Jesus resurrected, reborn into modern times would be a carpenter, 
a builder of new ideas, a rebel and advocate of the down trodden.  
Jesus would, in all probability, be a Democrat!
