Letter to the Editor - For Immediate Release

SUBJECT: Anti-American Republicans Should Shut Up!

Republicans who continue to call for the unjustified impeachment of President Clinton while brave Americans wage war over the skies of Baghdad exhibit their true colors. They betray America and their oath of loyalty to these United States and commit a crime greater than any alleged in their articles of impeachment against the President of the United States. That crime is the crime of sedition, if not treason!

Republicans have known all along that President Clinton did nothing worthy of impeachment which makes their action against the President in a time of conflict and crisis not only partisan, but akin to treason. Republicans who defame the President give ammunition, comfort and advantage to our enemies. Any who would bring frivolous articles of impeachment against the President do great harm to our democracy and the Presidency which the majority of Americans support.

Cries of "Wage the Dog" are merely an attempt by over zealous republicans to further hurt and harm the Presidency, to divide America at a time when we must stand united against our enemies.Make no doubt about it, America has enemies around the world who would kill and destroy the very heart of our nation should they ever get weapons of mass destruction. This is the REAL issue republicans should concern themselves with, not fabricated articles of impeachment or silly little sex scandals.

There is no greater lie than to tell the American people their Commander in Chief is a lier in matters of state when in fact the President is an honest, moral man. We all make mistakes, but hopefully we learn from our mistakes and become better citizens in the process. It is time republicans learn from their mistakes and focus their energy upon REAL issues such as international terrorism and building a stronger democracy, one where not a single child is without food, clothing, shelter or health care.

As bombs fall upon Iraq we should rally around the President. After all, should Saddam Hussein acquire weapons of mass destruction, it will mean more Americans will die. It should not take a war to bring republicans to their senses, but apparently that is the case. Unfortunately the enemies of democracy score points every time republicans raise their voice to denounce President Clinton. It makes you wonder who is committing real high crimes and misdemeanors, the President who is standing up against Saddam Hussein, or republicans who threaten our national security by denouncing the President in face of international terrorism and a state of war?

Sincerely, Terry Lynch
