Letter to the Editor - For Immediate Release

SUBJECT: Vote To Acquit President Clinton! The verdict is in! Senate acquits Clinton! When I look into my crystal ball that is the future I would like to see. Yet there are storm clouds over our nation's Capitol. Will a senate trial forever shame our president and nation; or will humanity, good sense and justice rule to bring a quick end to these clouds of scandal and the partisan politics of publicly crucifying the president? Indeed, is a senate trial really the best course of action for our nation? Clearly the majority of Americans do not want a long, drawn out trial in the Senate or any action to remove President Clinton from office. The people want the US Senate to dispense with impeachment considerations posthaste! No good can come from dragging our president and nation through the mud of further scandal. The high, moral road is to separate matters of state from personal indiscretions, to forgive the President and get back to the business of governing our nation. Can not the Senate forgive the President as have the people? I believe the Senate would be wise to listen to the majority of Americans. Senators hear the cry! Forgive President Clinton in your hearts! Then vote to acquit the President given he has committed no high crimes or misdemeanors against the state! The US Senate would be wise to immediately dispense with any further trial and consider no further unjust, unconstitutional resolutions to censor the President. A quick vote for acquittal would be best for the country and represent how the majority of Americans would like to see this matter resolved! Any other action as censure promoted by partisan republicans or right wing Christian coalition advocates would simply crucify the President in public. This would bring undeserved shame upon our nation! The most sound, reasonable, enlightened action is a prompt vote for acquittal by a majority of Senators! I am sending copy of this letter to US Senators asking that they enter a resolution for prompt acquittal of President Clinton! I urge that all US Senators heed the will of the American people, forgive President Clinton, issue an acquittal, and move on to the more important matter of governing our great nation! Sincerely, Terry Lynch Montgomery, AL 31 Dec. 1998 Copyright Notice
