SUBJECT: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: Homebreaker and Impeachment Monster! Ref.: "Hyde won't limit investigation" Montgomery Advertiser, Oct. 5, 1998, p.1A. Ref.: "This Hypocrite Broke Up My Family" by David Talbot, Salon Magazine Republicans could not have picked a better man to oversee House Judiciary hearings into the possible impeachment of President Clinton than Mr. Hyde, a two faced balled lier, long time adultery monster and home breaker. Mr. Hyde is, in all respects Robert Louis Stevenson's worst nightmare reincarnated! And who do you suppose is Dr. Jekyll? Recently Salon Magazine broke what I like to call the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde story. Appearently the man leading the charge to impeach the president had a long-time affair which he covered up and lied about. When this was finally made public his defense was that, "The statue of limitaitons has long since passed on my youthful indiscretions." What I'd like to ask Mr. Hyde is, "When did the statue of limitations expire on the Golden Rule?" You can't impeach a President who is the mirror image of the majority of Americans. Whatever are his human faults or mistakes, President Clinton remains populaar with the majority of Americans and is our elected leader. Is is immoral to hold the president of the United States to a higher standard than every other citizen. Just as the president is not above the law, he is not inhuman. Yet that is exactly what moralistic, holier than thou, republicans are doing. They are saying that the president must set a higher standard; then they say he is not above the law. Sorry, but you can't have it both ways; that is, unless we castrate the President and make our Commander-in-Chief a eunuch! Perhaps that is why republicans liked Reagan and Bush, both were too old to sow their wild oats! The majority of Americans don't want a president without the balls, without the guts, to do the hard and dirty work of leading our country. Sorry, but being a president is not the pure, white, moral, angelic job of Mr. Clean. It sometimes is dirty work and can involve shooting, killing, maming or murdering thousands of people in defense of democracy. And god forbit it sometimes involves lying to protect the office, family and country! Like it or not, that is what a Commander-in-Chief does. Yet here we are all in an uproar over where the president has put his penis! We should be more concerned about where he puts our sons and daughters, our soldiers who must fight and die and sacrifice their lives for America. Mr. Hyde, I'm sorry, but you have sinned and can not cast the first stone! Nor can Dr. Jekyll, who in this case is non other than Newt Gingrich, an amoral, tax evading, cover-up artist. Only the American people can kick Clinton out of office and the majority of them don't want to. If you wonder why, you have no further to look then to the republican party and their Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde!
