He was a very alert dog and is attributed with saving the life of La Faye S. Lynch, of Montgomery, Alabama, in August of 2003. When Mrs. Lynch became ill and unconscious, Jade alerted his master, that she could be rushed to the hospital. Jade was much loved and will be sorely missed. Jade lived a good and long life and was a loyal companion to the very end. He did not suffer and has gone to that great dog house in the sky to await his master at Rainbow Bridge just outside the pearly gates of Heaven. Dear Terry, Tonight my prayers and my heart reach out to you my friend, and to Jade. I pray the Great Spirit welcomes his Spirit to a world of love, kindness, and gentle petting and that He and Jade have a kinship in their world. May his healing also reach out and touch your heart and heal your wounds also. Remember always that you had 12 years of total, unconditional love, something few have, and few of those understand what they have. Words help but little, but I am here if you need to talk. I am glad you had the time you had, and I truly feel your loss in my heart, and your joy in the memories.
Your brother in words, I am so sad to hear Jade died. I hope you will be fine. It makes me happy that you do believe that he will be in heaven as well. When our first and second dog died I hoped to see them again Take care, Jade will watch over you. Gabi in Germany
I am sorry to hear Jade passed away. Your very special friend and always there with you whenever you wanted or needed him. I sure know how that feels. I certainly am not the same bloke without a canine friend, but I made a decision that there be no more of that sadness for me. I think maybe you will have another new friend soon and if that is the case I look forward to it. Graham in Christchurch, New Zealand
I have tried calling you this morning. I hope you will be feeling better soon. I felt sad, so much, but at least I heard Jade saying goodbye to me from afar. I will light a candle for Jade today. Hope to talk to you soon. Jane Luzon, Philippines
My neighbors, Linda and Lisa, both who love and cherish their dogs very much and who knew Jade, expressed their heart felt thoughts when learning of Jade's passing.
Hi Terry, I'm so sorry to hear about your best friend Jade. Duke died last year on January 26; he was almost 16 years old. I also miss my dog very much. They are the best friend a human can ever have! I wish they lasted longer, even 16 years is not long enough. I hope that someone gives you a German Shepherd because you would take very good care of it. If not, look in the pound. I've seen beautiful G.S.D.'s there. The way the economy is people are forced to give up their pets and it's worth a look when you are ready. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. Liz, Florida
I am so sorry to hear about your sweet baby....so so gorgeous. I can't wait to meet her in heaven; I know I will. The poem made me cry and I couldn't finish reading the website because I got so emotional. I'm so sensitive when it comes to this subject. I've never lost a dog but I have an older one now and a younger one and I worry but try to live each day to the fullest with them. God Bless you and I hope you are doing okay. With respect to this special bloodline Lynda says,
"I have been a breeder for 14 years, and my associates nearly 30 years. We are a small group dedicated to German Shepherds as they were twenty years ago -- magnificent old style dogs, mentally and physically sound, extreme neither in angulation, build or temperament. Our dogs are based on CH. Caralon's Hein vd Lo Ckenheim CD ROM OFA, a beautiful dog known for producing excellence in health and temperament. We have much better than average success rate with avoiding genetic diseases, hip dysplasia, spondylosis, heart trouble, enzyme deficiencies, allergies, thyroid imbalance and other diseases. We also do in-depth temperament testing and look specifically at such traits as dominance, trainability, intelligence, noise-shyness, sociability, confidence, aggression (what kind and how much selecting for natural protection and territoriality, but frowning on prey drive as it is more difficult to control). Our dogs can be excellent workers and still possess natural good manners and common sense. We use our dogs with REACH, Restoring and Extending Ability with Canine Helpers, so they have tobe sound."
If you are an experienced trainer/handler of German Shepherds with 10-20 or more years experience and a proven track record of training and showing German Shepherd dogs and would be interested in working with Jade to earn obedience or other working titles, please contact:: Terry Lynch, Jade's owner.
Thank you.

At ten months old Jade is a very vigerous, happy dog. He is in excellent health and has very high spirits, being active and well trained. He learns fast and enjoys pleasing his master. His coat is very bright and shiney which is why I like to call him "most illustrious." He is also blacker than the night! In fact Jade is so black that he disappears at night and makes a hole in the darkness!!! If you are thinking about breeding your bitch down the road please view Jade's pedigree.
Attention breeders! Jade's preliminary radiographs for early signs of hip dysplasia have been made and reviewed for remodeling and sclerosis of the femoral head and neck, acetabular congruity and coxofemoral joint luxation. No abnormalities were identified. In other words Jade's hips are GOOD! Another view will be made when Jade is two years of age and film will be sent to Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for screening. Update: At two years of age Jade's radiographs were sent to OFA and registered:
OFA GS-55264 Good 24M-T (Hips).
Jade's basic obedience training is progressing well. He is a very smart dog and responds well to both voice and hand commands. He enjoys playing ball and loves to retrieve balls or other play toys. Jade has been informally trained using the methods illustrated in Leerburg's Baisc Dog Obedience training video tape #302. This is an excellent video and demonstratesd the usage of praise and proper correction technique to reinforce a dog's learning. Also The Ultimate Guide to Dog Training : How to Bring Out the Best in Your Pet by Mordecai Siegal, Matthew Margolis is being used for more formal obedience training.
