Dandelion Kisses

Little Alice with her eyes so bright
She didn’t understand the T.V. war her Daddy played.
All the people inside the box
Fighting, killing, bombing, destroying -- never dying.

Little Alice played with dandelions
Blowing kisses, making peace now wishes, (Chorus)
Every seed her heart carried far upon the wind
To end the war and bring her Daddy hero home.

Little Alice didn’t understand
The flagged draped coffin, the bugle playing taps
The twenty-one gun salute, what they meant?
When they lowered her Daddy hero into the ground.
They never showed that part in the T.V. box war.

Little Alice missed her Mommy too
She didn’t understand why now it was her turn
She blew her kisses to the wind
Dandelion kisses, peace now wishes carried far.

Little Alice knew this time
What the flagged draped coffins, bugle playing meant
Twenty-one guns flashing, blasting. Boom! Boom! Boom!
They meant her Mommy was a hero too! Never, never, coming home.

Little Alice playing in the meadow
Blowing dandelion kisses upon the wind
Each one it carried her heart so far
Now her Mommy/Daddy hero angles are watching over her!

Little Alice what’s inside that box?
She had to know, she had to see.
No more dandelion kisses, no more peace now wishes.
She had to open that box and play.

Alice now is a maiden warrior fair and strong
Inside the box where the bombs explode
Where you have nine lives and no one ever dies
For its all just a game and pack of lies!
