Of course just joining an affiliate program is not all you need to do. You need to have a web site, your own personal networking web site where people can come. Your personal business networking site serves as a "trap" to fish for people who are the drawn into the web and when they bite and take the bait, you earn a commission. This is quite like a spider weaving a web to catch its prey, yet in advertising people weave clever webs to entice shoppers to spend their money upon products and services.

You may think that comparing spiders to people is anthropomorphic and I agree. People are not spiders and spiders are not people. But people do build webs and networks; people do advertise to market goods and services. The best advertising is that which results in the most people parting with their hard earned money on that product or service which they need or want. Should it be a product or service you have created or designed, or even information you are marketing, then the more power to you! That is what I wish, for you success! So to succeed you need to learn how to build a good web, a good network, and how to advertise effectively.
This reference to spiders building webs may seem like a crude analogy, but it is the God awful truth! Advertising works by building webs or networks and fishing for customers to buy your product or service. Your wed site is the hook, line and sinker which will be used to fish for customers. The web site you are looking at does exactly that as does every other business related site upon the Internet.
There is great competition among millions of web sites fishing for customers. So how do you get customers to come to your site and take your bait?
Certainly you need to list your site upon search engines. Also you have to be sure that your site uses META codes. These are hidden code that use keywords to draw people to whatever product or service you are marketing. The site you are looking at uses such META codes. The META codes you need to use will vary for the type of site you build. Check out META codes to learn more about this subject.
In addition to creating your own web site with META codes you need to have a good domain name. I've been using the BYTELAND.ORG domain for years. It works well for me as does www.talgsd.com (TAL Graphics & Design), which is another of my domains. The key to selecting a good domain is to keep it short, simple and to the point. Six to eight letters make good domains. If you use a longer domain name, try to make it something easy to remember, like a phrase such as Support Our Troops.
Once you have chosen and purchased your own domain you need to actually create your own home page and open up a shop or emporium. There are many ways to do this. I like the
CafePress.com service as my personal business interests incorporate graphic designs. But I also taught myself how to write HTML code which I can do now in my sleep! If you want to have complete power and control over the design and production of your Internet site, I recommend you do the same. At the very least get you a good book on HTML code.
If your are not so technically minded and anything involving computer languages or mathematics drives you up the wall, then by all means use a HTML program which will write the code for your web site automatically. Or you might simply subscribe to one of the many services that provide web site designs on line. In fact many people are now using blogs (on line journal) as a way to produce their home pages, businesses and personal networking sites. Blogs are great for this purpose as they provide a soft sale; i.e., you draw people to you by the daily stories you tell or the information you provide, and then hook them upon the affiliate programs you offer.
