Stranger Than Fiction
By Terry Lynch (Chorus -- repeat as desired) It's stranger than fiction It's stranger than life It's the dreams we dream It's the dreams we share. Not everyone's happy, not everyone's glad Some people are hungry, some people are sad But there's enough of loven' to go 'round Enough of food for the soul if we'd all share. State and religion can't save the whole world It takes me and you together It takes neighbor and neighbor For its love that brightens, it's love that enlightens. Now I know there are many who kneel and who pray To false gods and idols, to sun and to stars But the praying's no good with greed and with guns It's loven' that changes the heart and the soul. I look at the rainbow it tells me I know That some day all people will shine and will glow If just enough kisses, if just enough hugs If just enough sharing, if just enough loving. It's stranger than fiction It's stranger than life It's the dreams we dream It's the dreams we share. ...It's the love we make out of our dreams ...It's the promise we keep, to keep building our dreams. Terry Lynch 16 Oct. 1997 Remarks: Inspired by listening to John Denver's songs. I played John Denver's CD's for several days after his death. This and several other songs were inspired by visions of John Denver. It was as if John Denver was alive in me and singing through me. Just my imagination perhaps, or maybe divine inspiration. Note this particular song has nothing to do with the Promise Keepers religious movement. It is an expression of faith in one's self and the creative spirit to pursue one's dreams. I believe that is how John Denver led his life and how he would like to inspire others to follow in his footsteps.
