Save A Life Adopt A Dog!

Everyone who is interested in a quality pet is urged to consider adoption. Many dogs, cats and other animals are available in the area for adoption.

Currently there are many dogs available for adoption in the Meridian, MS area. Many of these dogs may be in foster care and need forever homes immediately.

Thousands of German Shepherd Dogs and their mixes are available. These dogs often make great companions but as large breed, active dogs may require obedience training and a fenced yard.

Please watch these videos to learn more about adoption and rescue of homeless animals.

There is a great need for more people to become involved in the rescue and adoption of dogs, cats and other animals. This is a hugh problem and many communities simply are not investing any money in solving the problem of homeless animals. The result is that millions of dogs and cats are homeless and as a result suffering. These animals often starve to death or die upon the streets as a result of accident, injury or disease. It is an on-going, terrible tragedy in America which most people do not want to even think about. Such apathy is a BIG part of the problem. As a result more and more homeless animals come to suffer. Everyone who has a means to help solve this problem, either by making a donation or by adopting a dog or cat, who does not act, is partly responsible for the cruelty to animals which results. Please, don't be part of the problem by doing nothing; rather, make a donation to help adopt a dog today!

For those who have the means, you can help by adopting a dog or cat. Once you locate a dog, cat or other animal you are interested in, please complete an adoption application with the respective foster care organization. Thank you for your interest and support.

Please note that GSDAR is NOT a shelter. We do not currently have facilities to keep any animals and operate as an on-line referral service and network of volunteers and established adoption agencies to provide foster homes and care as means permits and to help find forever homes via free advertising and pet finder listings. As we grow it is hoped that a kennel and/or shelter facility can be built and that there will be people who will volunteer to be foster guardians for dogs, cats and other animals in Quitman. Thank you for your support.
