Welcome to GSD Animal Rescue. Our goal is to establish a community based animal adoption and rescue association of concerned citizen and volunteers which is well funded as a not-for-profit corporation supported by membership donations. Initially GSD Animal Rescue shall maintain an on-line presence to help provide education and information while growing to become an active organization. GSDAR is NOT a shelter; rather, is established to operate as a network of concerned citizens, volunteers and those who wish to serve as foster parents while forever homes are found for homeless dogs and other animals.
An adoption and animal rescue organization requires a group effort; hence membership and volunteers are needed. This includes people with a wide range of skills, abilities and interests as well as contributors to support the work and efforts as relates to animal adoption and rescue. The magnitude of the problem is enormous on both a city and county level; when extended to the state and region (Central Mississippi and western Alabama) the task of animal rescue become astronomical. Hence initial effort may best succeed by focusing upon breed specific animal rescue, such as German Shepherd or other dogs, as well as in assisting other already established animal adoption and rescue groups. In this manner members and volunteers can gain experience and establish the foundation needed to build a successful animal rescue organization.
In order to succeed, an adoption and animal rescue organization needs both dedicated and determined people and proper funding. Both these requirements can be achieved through the operation of a nonprofit corporation which will allow members to contribute their skills and abilities, time and effort as well as make financial contributions.
If you are an animal lover and want to help, please join GSDAR today! On your application, please be sure to indicate how you would like to help. If you want to volunteer or can provide any type of professional service please be sure to indicate this on your membership application. You may also contact Terry and explain your experience with animals and how you might be able to help. This will help to develop a network of concerned citizens to help solve the many problems associated with homeless animals.
Thank you for your interest in GSDAR! You help and support is much apprecitate!
