GSDAR Contributions Thank You

The GSDAR wishes to thank everyone for their generous contributions.

GSDAR is a nonprofit corporation working to help educate and inform the public about the serious problem of homeless animals. This is a problem of astronomical dimensions and everyone's help is going to be needed to solve this huge problem. You can begin by making a contribution of $5, $10, $20, $50 or more to GSDAR.

Currently GSDAR needs $750 to use to file an application for a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status plus addition money just to get up and running as an organization. I'm not sure why the IRS requires $750 just to make an application when this could be done on a simple one or two page form, but that bureaucracy for you. In any case, since I am a minister and regard animal rescue work as part of my ministry, anyone who wants to make a contribution to GSDAR can do so and all the contributions will be used for GSDAR.

You can make a donation via PayPal by clicking on the GSDAR paw below.

GSDAR is NOT a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization or charity and is currently operating as a private, grassroots, on-line nonprofit corporation; hence, gifts, donations or in kind service may not be tax exempt until which time as GSDAR may obtain a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the IRS. If you want to help by making a donation sufficient to cover the cost of applying to the IRS for tax exempt status, please do so by joining as a small business or corporation. Thank you for your support.

Thank you for supporting GSDAR.

Homeless animals is a huge problem

To give you an idea of the scope of the problem, right here in Mississippi there are over 73,000 dogs and cats put down in shelters every year. Plus there are thousands of more homeless animals and animals which are neglected or abused. Every day I see examples of this and am going to post a few photographs below to illustrate the point.

Bull dog tied outside to wood shed and left unattended for days at a time during record breaking cold winter weather. Lacking an adequate animal control ordinance, animal control officer and/or animal shelter many cities and counties in Mississippi are not able to deal with such issues as abuse, neglect or cruelty to animals.

Stray cats are a big problem in many rural Mississippi cities and towns. State wide there are tens of thousands of stray cats without homes. Neglected they go wild and contribute to generation after generation of new feral cats.

Feral cats often breed under houses, in abandoned buildings, under storage sheds, in sewers, or anywhere else there is shelter. Lacking an animal control officer and williness to fund a spay-neuter program, municipalities are ultimately responsible for the feral cat problem which plagues many cities and towns.

Please help these and the many other homeless, abused and neglected animals today. You generosity is appreciated.
