Subject: Alabama workers exploited by foreign corporations

Alabama workers are being exploited by foreign corporations. A good example of this is large foreign owned auto industries which negotiate sweetheart deals for themselves knowing that disorganized workers are not enabled and empowered to obtain the same type of deals for themselves. A prime example of this is Hyundai which has received huge benefits and breaks that private citizens could never get.

This is a result of the collusion of such big foreign industries and lawyers exclusively representing their interest to the detriment of private citizens who are not represented by a worker's union. When one party is without the same legal representation that another party enjoys, clearly the represented party gains an unprecedented advantage!

Unless skilled workers organize into a trade union, they will continue to have no power to collectively bargain with the big foreign auto industries. Thus they will be at the mercy of these monster companies for every aspect of their livelihood.

A good example of this was demonstrated by Hyundai when it proposed that a street named after an honored Alabama citizen should be changed to boast Hyundai. If a foreign company does not even honor our dead, how do you suppose they will treat the living?

The answer is, as nonentities! In the application for employment process, Hyundai or its agents are not even responding to everyone who request an application. Instead they are using pitiful excuses for weeding out qualified applicants. Anyone who does not follow instructions to the tee is being weeded out, as such behavior demonstrates individuality, a quality which could threaten its authoritative control of the worker. You simply DO NOT EXIST unless you comply with the wishes of Hyundai!

I propose that everyone who wants to work for Hyundai or other out-of-state, out-of-country corporations unionize. Only through organizing will members of the labor force be able to receive the same legal representation big corporations enjoy. This is the only way to insure fair hiring practices, safe working conditions, highest pay, best benefits, and the many other rights that only an organized, legally represented labor force can enjoy.

Sincerely,
