Subject: Alabama Supreme Court Guarantees Discrimination in Educational Funding

Ref.: "Court bows out of school issue" by Todd Kleffman, Montgomery Advertiser, June 1,2002 p. A1

The inequality of funding of education in Alabama will continue to be a black-white issue so long as we have wealthy parents supporting majority white private schools fracturing the public school system's financial base. Anyone who expected Alabama's Supreme Court headed by a Bible quote scribing Chief Justice to rule otherwise is living in Lolly Land.

Certainly Ed Richardson, a former science teacher at the now closed Cloverdale Junior High School, is well aware of this fact. Our public school systems have been trashed by white, racist bigots pledged to the segregationist forever legacy of former Gov. George C. Wallace.

Unfortunately the moral majority of wealthy parents who send their children to private schools are white Christians who believe in the Tower of Babel myth that God separated the races. Until an exorcist of this fallacious melanoma is performed, Alabama's children in impoverished districts will continue to be discriminated against.

If you are black or poor in Alabama your fate has been sealed, for both the majority white church and state have conspired against you. Trying to solve the problem by voting is not going to work. The only solution is a massive outcry accompanied by ceaseless protest and demonstration for equality funding of education and an end to the privatization of education.

For individuals there may be another solution. If you are poor or black you could move to a state which has an educational lottery. At least then your children might have a chance to benefit from the fools of folly who waist away their wealth on the one-in-a-million chance God will bless them to win the lottery.

Sincerely,
Terry Lynch
