Although some congressional representatives have tried to circumvent the law by denying funds to federal marshals who may be called to enforce the law, they can not prevent usage of the National Guard from being called upon to uphold any order U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson might issue or to maintain peace in and around the court house.
In fact, Moore's every action seems like a calculated plot to create conflict and disrupt the judicial system. Certainly Moore realizes there are hot heads and hate groups that might use this issue to bomb the Southern Poverty Law Center or even try to kill its cofounder, Morris Dees. Therefore it would be quite appropriate to use the National Guard to provide protection and remove Roy's rock which has become a symbol for holy rollers!
If the National Guard is called out to remove the Ten Commandments monument by force, this will be a sad day in Alabama history. Should this occur I would hope it would result in the impeachment of Chief Justice Roy Moore, for such conduct is more like that of a criminal than a public servant.
Plus I would hope Chief Justice Moore gets a bill from the State of Alabama and the Federal Government for any cost this matter has incurred. There is absolutely no reason tax payer dollars should be used to pay for any cost related to Roy's rock!
Sincerely,
Terry Lynch
