The fact is nations can not make love when terrorist and tyrants are blowing up, murdering, torturing and raping innocent civilians. To make love you need to have a bed without bugs, a world people can sleep in freely and comfortably without the fear their sons and daughters will be stolen away in the night by those seeking to turn them into terrorists.
This is exactly what is happening around the world anywhere children and young people are being indoctrinated to kill and given automatic weapons, explosives and instructions on how to destroy others who preach love not war, peaceful resolution of conflict, not violence.
Yet it would seem the pacifists do not realize pacifism does not work when confronted by dictators, despots, tyrants and terrorists. For the pacifists is simply destroyed, blown away, their teachings burned and turned to dust in the process.
Unfortunately the only effective way to deal with the Saddam Husseins and Osama bin Ladens of this world is to use force of arms. Those who then say our just war on terrorism is unjust or too expensive make themselves the friends of our enemy, and thus become the enemy of freedom, liberty and these United States of America.
It sounds good to say, "Make love not war." I have said that often myself. But until the bed bugs of terrorism are exterminated it is going to be an uncomfortable, if not impossible, proposition!
Sincerely,
Terry Lynch
