Blob Blobs are those creatures which live inside a drop of ink; they can come to be about anything you imagine.
Blob Blobs is an original cartoon strip created by Terry Lynch. All Blob Blobs are the exclusive property of Terry Lynch and EArts and may not be used without the written permission of the artist. Blob Blobs are appropriate for reprint in newspapers and/or comic books. If you want to run Blob Blobs in your publication please contact Terry Lynch@aol.com. Thank you.
Blob Blobs was first created in March 2001. However the artist drew similar type doodles as early as 1976 which he called "puzzelets." Blob Blobs are created by drawing basic shapes with a felt tip pen or marker (Pilot, Sharpie, Uni-bal, etc.). These are then scanned using a HP ScanJet 5200C. Then the images are edited using Photo Suite III or other photo editing software. Compositions are often written out in long-hand first and then the final Blob Blobs created with the aid of a computer such that they will be in camera-ready format and may be emailed or uploaded to web sites.

Clikc on Blob Blobs to save as a file. Then import to graphic viewer and format to fit and center upon page. Blob Blobs are made in camera ready format to print out on 8 1/2" x 11 inkjet paper such that the cartoon frames will be a standard 1 3/4" high. The image area is approximately 7 3/8" x 10" for the entire sheet (plus or minus 1/8"). The artist uses Photo Suite to automatically position each sheet of frames for printing. The results is suitable for usage in comic books, newspapers or display. Sheets may even be printed out and framed behind glass or posted upon walls, filing cabnets, refrigerators, bulletin boards, etc. These sheets will also fit into Avery Diamond Clear Sheet Protectors Item #74305 at www.avery.com and when printed for display look like the one in this photo.
In fact it is intended that Blob Blobs may be used for entertaining displays in the home or office. Personal usage is free. If you use Blob Blobs for commercial purposes you need written permission from the artist and to pay a fair royalty fee. If you find any other ways to use Blob Blobs please share this with the artist. Also if you write a funny script that you would like to see turned into a Blob Blob you may send it to the artist. All scripts become the property of the artist and may be reprinted. Hope you enjoy Blob Blobs! |
The first Blob Blobs were drawn completely by hand but it soon became obvious that Blob Blobs could be easily adapted to a computer graphics format. The artist generally draws master sheets of Blob Blobs and then cuts/pastes them into frames, adding copy from either previously written scripts or created upon the spur of the moment. It is the artist's intent to product Blob Blobs as animated figures which can talk and turn into just about any type of object. Also the artists envisions Blob Blobs as stuffed toys that can be mass produced and marketed. This represents a potential million dollar enterprise. If you are interested in the production and marketing of Blob Blobs contact Terry Lynch@aol.com. Thank you.
