The Butterfly Photo Shop presents photographs of butterflies and moths from around the world on high quality gifts and apparel! Please contact Terry if you have any comments, suggestions or questions about this site. Please note that the profits from the marketing of butterfly gifts and apparel herein will be used to support this and related butterfly and natural history sites and/or projects. The first step in many preservation efforts is to raise awareness that each person may contribute what their means allows, be it research, financial support, scholarships, education, volunteer work or in kind services. When you support this site you will be helping those whom cherish butterflies and have devoted much of their lives working with butterflies, to record their beauty, to learn about these wonderful creatures and share their insight with others to enrich our life experience and add joy to our lives. Your support will help insure that butterflies are cherished, valued and preserved as it is through the efforts of photographers, scientists, naturalist and all who love nature that the value of butterflies will be realized, passed down to our children and their children, that on the next tomorrow there will still be a grand profusion of butterflies to marvel upon and invigorate the human spirit.
Without the work and devotion of those who cherish butterflies and other wildlife, they will diminish in numbers and gradually perish to the onslaught of inconsiderate developers, industrialists, loggers, air polluters and others who simply do not care how much they ravage and rape nature and the environment for billions of dollars in profit. The relatively little that is contributed through commission earning to support this site and the work of its authors, is but a drop in the bucket to the billions that enriches the coffers of those egomaniacs who are destroying our planet. Unless we act soon, there may be no butterflies to photograph tomorrow.
Our mission is to share the beauty of butterflies with the world on gifts and apparel and inspire a respect for the preservation of butterflies in all of humanity. Anyone who wants to help is invited to make a contribution to those charitable and professional organizations and associations listed or mentioned herein, which benefit butterflies and the study of insects and nature, in general. Plus your purchase of gifts and apparel from the Butterfly Photo Shop will help foster the work of the author and his dedication to promoting an awareness of butterflies, for without this first step there will be no one to speak for the preservation of butterflies, and on the next tomorrow you may hear the cry of children asking, "Gram pa, where have all the butterflies gone!"
Thank you for your support and patronage! Butterflies cannot speak for themselves, but through your support you will be reflecting and sharing their beauty, that your children or grandchildren will never ask that ungodly, haunting question.

Butterfly Photographer's Handbook by William B. Folsom. I would like to compliment Mr. Folsom on his presentation of another beautiful fluttery of butterflies and thank him for allowing me to present a number of the photographs found within the cover on gifts and apparel for his family, friends and associates. It is hoped that by being able to present this educational book along with high quality products that those who reveal in the enjoyment of nature and photography may better express themselves and share their passion with others. This blending of one's work with the lives of others, being able to reach out and touch and allow others to share the passion of nature photography by wearing a T-shirt on an outing to photograph butterflies or hang a beautiful picture of butterflies upon the wall of their home, school or office, is becoming more vital as the world's population growth and urbanization continues to impact natural ecosystems and result in the disappearance of habitats and species. Perhaps if wearing a butterfly sweatshirt or a butterfly cap helps stimulate one mind or open just one heart to the plight of butterflies, then it will make all the difference in the world. Who can say that it will not be a young Ansel Adams, Charles Darwin or reborn Henry Fabre that sees one of Mr. Folsom's butterfly photographs, read his book, slips into a butterfly shirt and is inspired to go exploring the great outdoors for flittering wonders! Indeed, this blend of butterflies, books and apparel makes for an inspirational mind set. Teachers might take this to heart, cast out those dull, conformist school uniforms, and let all their children wear a butterfly shirt on field trips to city and state parks to photograph and study butterflies.

Because firefly habitats are being destroyed at alarming rates, wetlands being drained to build resorts, forested areas being clear cut and burned, the virgin rain forests being raped and plundered for profit, it is vital that people be made aware of how greedy industrialist are destroying the environment. Hence I took the above firefly flight pattern design and gave fireflies the names of real people to make an emotional appeal for the preservation and protection of firefly habitats. Please buy these gifts and apparel and help the Go Green campaign to recycle, conserve and protect our natural resources, wildlife and the environment that tomorrow there will still be fireflies to grace our lives and to show our children.
Fireflies and butterflies depend upon the same virgin forest, wetlands and natural habitats for their existence and survival. Therefore everyone who loves nature and wildlife is urged to support Go Green: Recycle! Conserve! Preserve!
